You do not need a lab, an appointment or a two-week wait to see what your insulin is doing. Here is how a reading works, start to finish.

Prepare
Insert the batch ID card from your test kit into the back of the reader. It tells the reader exactly which batch of cartridges you are using, so every result is read against the right calibration.

Sample
Collect a small blood sample and apply it to the well of the test cartridge. Fasting, first thing in the morning, gives you the most comparable readings over time.

Read
Slide the cartridge into the reader and press the button. The reader excites a fluorescent marker in the cartridge and measures the light that comes back. Your insulin result appears on screen in minutes.

Track
Read your result on the reader’s screen, in the IN5ULIN app, or through an API feed into your favourite fitness tracker. Every result is saved, so you can see how your insulin responds to the changes you make in food, sleep, stress and movement.
